Both staying at home while recovering from the virus.
On Friday, both Senators Rick Scott and Chuck Grassley announced that they had tested positive for COVID-19. Senator Grassley is the longest-serving Senator and is 87 years old. Both men announced they would be entering quarantine until they tested negative and would do all they could to return to work as soon as possible.
The announcements raised concerns within Congress about the efficacy of the protective measures as COVID-19 cases spike around the nation. Senator Grassley urged Americans to follow the guidelines, saying, “This virus is hitting rural and urban areas alike. No community is immune. I ask every Iowan to continue to do their part to keep their family and neighbors safe. Wash your hands, limit your activity outside your household, social distance, wear a mask.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the Lord to give the doctors treating the Senators wisdom on how best to bring healing.
- For the CDC to offer the best directions to keep Americans healthy.
- That the Health and Human Services Department would succeed in efforts to curb the resurgence of the virus.
